The National Academy of Psychology (NAOP), the premier organization working in the field of psychology in India, is going to organize its 33rd Annual Conference from 14 to 16 February 2025. This conference is being organized in collaboration with GITAM School of Humanities, Visakhapatnam and the prestigious Psychologs Magazine.
The theme of this year’s conference is –
“Psychology for Sustainable Development: Empowering the Future”
This theme emphasizes how psychology can mentally empower society and individuals so that they can move towards a sustainable, just and collectively prosperous future.
Role of the organizers
Three major institutions are involved in organizing this conference:
- GITAM (Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management): It was established in 1980 under the guidance of Dr. V.V.S. Murthy. This institution is known for higher education and social upliftment.
- NAOP (National Academy of Psychology): It is a professional organization established in 1987, which includes researchers and scholars working in various fields of psychology.
- Psychologs Magazine: India’s leading mental health magazine which publishes articles and information based on various topics related to mental health.
Sub-Themes: Key areas of discussion in the conference
The sub-themes that will be discussed and deliberated upon in the conference are:
- Behavioral Change for Sustainability: This section will explore how psychological principles and evidence-based interventions can be used to bring about sustainable changes in people’s behavior.

Registration & Accommodation Facility
The registration for this conference started from October 2023 and it remained open till the end of January 2024. Interested participants could apply online through the registration portal. The organizers have also provided accommodation facility for the participants.
Note: Only registered participants can attend the workshops. Seats will be filled as per the first come, first served policy, in which priority will be given to research students.
